Bushkill Community Church (BCC)

Believing the Bible to be our final authority for faith and Christian living, we affirm the

following:

1) That the universe is the purposeful creation of a personal, loving, almighty God.

(Genesis 1:1)

2) That all human being are made in the image of the Creator and are of infinite work.

(Genesis 1:27)

3) That our world is under the sway of sin as a result of historical and a personal human

rebellion against God, so that suffering, death and separation from God are the

experience of humankind; and that without the intervention of God’s grace, this will be

the eternal state of all persons. (Romans 5:12)

4) That Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God (Hebrews 4:14), through his virgin birth

(Matthew 1:18-25), sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21), sacrificial death on the Cross

(Romans 3:25-26), and glorious resurrection (Matthew 28:1-10) and ascension (Acts

1:9), graciously offers new life (Romans 6:4) to all who receive him by faith. (Ephesians

2:8-9)

5) That the Holy Spirit, indwelling believers (1 Corinthians 6:19), gives them a desire and

an ability to follow biblical standards of conduct in their personal lives and in society.

(Galatians 5:22-25)

6) That the Christian faith is lived in the community of the church (Hebrews 10:23-25),

where worship and witness (Colossians 3:16), are embodied through the spiritual gifts of

its members. (1 Corinthians 12:4-6)

7) That Jesus Christ will return to this world (Acts 1:9-11), bring an end to history as we

know it (Matthew 24:35, inaugurate the final judgment (Revelation 20:11-15), and

welcome believers into his eternal kingdom. (Matthew 25:34)
